BKC advances Canada’s environmental research through knowledge braiding by sustaining and expanding a National Network of Indigenous-led and co-led Place-based Knowledge Hubs.
BKC funds 13 place-based Place-based Knowledge Hubs, ensuring a balanced geographic and thematic representation across Canada. Each Hub is designed to align closely with federal science priorities, integrating diverse perspectives and expertise to address key issues.
Our Place-based Knowledge Hubs focus on interconnected themes such as conservation, restoration, adaptation, and well-being of All our Relations. This holistic approach ensures that our efforts are comprehensive and have a lasting impact. These Hubs align closely with federal science priorities and operate with a strong commitment to inclusivity, bringing together voices from various communities and disciplines to foster collaboration and innovation.
