Young adults aged 18-31, primarily Indigenous and either entering the workforce or exploring career options outside of post-secondary education, can benefit from our Youth Development Pathway. BKC will provide opportunities for Land-Based Learning experiences that encompass research methods and knowledge braiding practices. Additionally, we focus on equipping youth with essential skills for personal development, career advancement, and successful employment transitions.
Holding ceremonies, harvesting and processing workshops, and intergenerational programs are central to Indigenous learning and reflect the deep, relational ways knowledge is shared on the land.
BKC supports this work by issuing regular calls for proposals for land-based learning camps across the country. These initiatives braid Indigenous and Western knowledges, offering youth meaningful time on the land while honouring Indigenous Peoples’ knowledges, cultures, and languages as essential to deep, place-based understanding.
